We will indicate the importance of study and classification of ancient solutions in geometric flows. We will mention some results we derived with Daskalopolous and Hamilton in the curve shortening flow and the Ricci flow. We will also mention some more recent results we obtained in the Yamabe flow, such as the classification of Yamabe solitons and construction of some new ancient solutions.
