Paul Feehan:  * Overview - Professor Paul Feehan (MSMF Program Director)    * Panel - Professor John Kolassa (Statistics Graduate Program Director), Professor Michael Saks (Mathematics Graduate Program Director), Professor William Steiger (Computer Science Graduate Program Director), and Cheng Gao (MSMF Alumnus 2009, Economics PhD Student)Each year since our master's program was founded, we have had several students express an interest in doing a PhD in quantitative finance or a closely related field. Most recently, graduates of our program have gone on to pursue PhD degree programs in economics and statistics. This year, we'd like to give those students who are interested a little more help with   1. Selecting suitable PhD programs, at Rutgers and elsewhere, appropriate for their undergraduate and MSMF education; and   2. Preparing applications for admission in either fall 2010 or 2011.Paul will give a short presentation of the main issues to consider when deciding whether to pursue a PhD and information about industry versus academic careers. We will allocate the majority of the time to a Q&A with a panel including PhD program directors from mathematics, statistics, and possibly other departments at Rutgers, and an MSMF alumnus and current PhD student. This event will be posted on Quant Careers. Please register for the event on Quant Careers when it is posted there.
